FIELD: microwave ovens for heating dielectric materials including foodstuff. SUBSTANCE: microwave field is produced in material placed in oven chamber by means of comb-type radial slow-wave structure; microwave energy is introduced from structure periphery and while spreading to center it is absorbed by material being heated. Placed in center of structure is three-dimensional microwave-energy absorber of axisymmetrical shape, such as truncated cone, protruding above its surface. Absorber symmetry axis is perpendicular to structure surface. Microwave absorber makes it possible to use structure of lower slow-down property and, hence, of lower speed of field decay above its surface while retaining desired load of microwave-energy source in case of changes in volume and absorbing properties of material being heated.
