FIELD: heat treatment; may be used in manufacture of building materials, in particular, manufacture of cement clinker at the stage of preliminary heating and decarbonization of raw material flour. SUBSTANCE: method includes heat treatment of dispersed material in inclined drum by supplying material for drum loading end and bringing about in zone of decarbonization of the required temperature conditions with preset consumption of heat energy which are maintained by supplying to drum end of hot gas flow. Besides, water-falling conditions are provided inside drum due to its rotation, and settled dispersed material coming out of drum together with effluent gases on the side of drum loading end returns to drum also from loading end. The main distinguishing feature of heat exchanger consists in that cyclone settler is multistage. It solves the main problem of high degree of cleaning of effluent gases arising in connection with increased dust carrying-away. Burner of heat exchanger is offered to be installed at definite distance from drum to ensure stable operation of heat exchanger even at the very high concentration of gas-dust suspended matter in drum.
