FIELD: laser technology.
SUBSTANCE: laser with Q-switched resonator and mode-locking comprises a resonator of four mirrors, two of which are end, and two are intermediate and rotary; an active crystal (AC) in an inclined arm formed by two swivel mirrors, whereas the radiation of the laser pump diode is focused in the AC by a lens system through a meniscus swivel mirror, an acousto-optic modulator is placed in one of the two end arms, each of which is formed by an end and a swivel mirror, made of a material with a Kerr nonlinearity to form Q-switching and mode locking, the operating frequency f of the modulator is set equal to or a multiple of half the intermode interval 2f of the laser, the switching frequency of the modulator determines the repetition rate of Q-switch pulses, a nonlinear crystal is placed in the second end arm for generation of multiple harmonics and parametric generation, configured for obtaining laser radiation in a given spectral range.
EFFECT: ultrashort pulses with high peak power in a solid-state laser with one traveling wave AOM for Q-switching, mode locking and formation of a Kerr lens.
