FIELD: self-routing multiple-level communication network. SUBSTANCE: device provides transmission of elements of packet information blocks from one device input to corresponding output in group of such outputs (01-32). Outputs of commutation gate are joined in corresponding routing groups which have at least one output. Router generates pointer at output port address OPA. Said pointer identifies output of commutation network used for information transmission. This pointer is stored in self-routing tag SRT which is added to information piece to be transmitted. In this case information piece is transmitted to one output which belong to selected routing group. Said router can also control transmission of current information piece through commutation gate according to implemented given routing function which is selected from their set (PS, DY, MC, PH, JS). Selection of routing function is provided by router according routing control code RCC which also belongs to self-routing tag SRT. Each value of said code determines specific information transmission method which is implemented as specific sequence of routing functions and is executed in commutation gates JSE of communication network SN.
