FIELD: pharmacology; production of neurohormonal drugs, in particular, abbergin. SUBSTANCE: finely divided ergot cornicula of ergocryptic strain are extracted with dichloroethane, followed by thickening dichloroethane extracts by evaporation. Then petroleum ether is added to extracts to precipitate all alkaloids contained therein. Precipitate is dissolved in chloroform and solution is passed through bed of fine-grain sorbent, thickened by evaporation and crystallized from benzene. As a result, mixture of alpha- and beta-ergocryptins is obtained in the form of solvate containing two benzene molecules. Solvate is subjected to bromination by adding to it N-bromosuccinamide at 20 C, followed by stirring solution. Solvents are removed, residue is filtered through silica gel bed in vacuum, thickened by evaporation and crystallized from acetone. Prepared product is isolated in the form of base and then converted into methane sulphonate. EFFECT: higher product yield; simplified process. 2 cl, 1 tbl
