FIELD: electronics, electron-optical cameras intended to record fast-going processes accompanied by optical radiation. SUBSTANCE: electron-optical camera includes streak tube which has accelerating electrode in the form of cylinder, its base nearest to photocathode has slit with width W=1/2N, where W is width of slit, mm; N is spatial resolution of streak tube, line/mm, photocathode, electrostatic focusing system, electron beam sweep system, luminescent screen. Pulse accelerating voltage with duration of flat part meeting conduction t ≤ T < S/V, where T is duration of flat part of accelerating pulse, s; t is duration of examined process, s; S is distance between surface of photocathode and accelerating electrode, mm; V is rate of propagation of plasma with electric puncture of vacuum gap, mm/s is applied between photocathode and accelerating electrode.
