FIELD: perforation of smooth close surfaces of articles from open-pore foam plastic sheets. SUBSTANCE: open-pore foam plastic sheets with smooth close surfaces after extrusion are heated to preset temperature, subjected to deep drawing in plant for thermal molding with the aid of two-sided vacuum treatment and thermal fixation. One or two close surface films of foam plastic sheet are perforated with the help of movable needles installed in mold. Mold is a component of plant for thermal molding, and it forms together with the other mold the tool for thermal molding. Mold for internal side of foam plastic sheet has punch, cooling plate, vacuum plate, movable needles, needle plate, spring for returning the needle plate and also membranes and mounting plate which are supported together by means of screws.
