FIELD: remote control of parameters of coatings and polymeric films; meteorology. SUBSTANCE: device has several optical branches. Every branch includes four measuring channels. Optical branch has two linear polarizers, attenuator and circular polarizer, each of them being connected to light filter, television camera and analog-to-digital converter. Optical branch has also units calculating the degree of polarization, polarization azimuth, ellipticity and intensity. Optical branches are oriented in one plane with angular distance relative to one another equal to 180/N, where N is number of optical branches. Device allows measurement of polarization features of objects which can be used for classification and recognition, as well as for determination of observed object properties by results of polarization measurements.
