Base cell stations 12 transmit information about position and distance. Mobile set 10 receives information about position of base station and calculated distance 18 from cell C1, which was its hosting cell last time, to current cell C2 where it is located. If calculate distance is greater than distance to cell where detection occurred, then mobile set is detected as hosted. Search call signals of mobile set 10 are sent to cell group 16, 20 which are spaced from current hosting cell by distance which is less than distance value that has been transmitted by this cell.
