FIELD: physics; communications.

SUBSTANCE: proposed invention pertains to mobile communication. The technical outcome is the automatic self-correction of erroneous information about the location of a base station. For this effect, in the cordless communications network, the location of the antenna of the base station and its time shifts are stored in almanac database of the base station together with the other information, used for obtaining more reliable fixing of the location of the base stations under different conditions. The system uses positioning of the location of mobile stations and geophysical information for determining the ranges for determining the location of the antennae of the base station and synchronisation shift of the base stations. The location of the base stations is found during normal determination of the location of mobile stations, so as to back up and improve the data on the location of the antennae and so as to correct changes or displacement of the antennae of the base station. There is possibility of fast recovery from loss of identity of sectors of cells during displacement of the antenna of the base station and guarantee of accuracy of determining location of the mobile station based on determination of the distance from the base station and fast obtaining of data on the location of mobile stations, which have global satellite receivers.

EFFECT: possibility of self-correction of erroneous information on the location of a base station.
