FIELD: foundry. SUBSTANCE: in gear for continuous casting of molten metal, flow of molten metal in unhardened parts of billet is adjusted with the aid of static or periodic low-frequency magnetic field. Mould includes copper plates 2 forming casting mould with rectangular cross-section, water-cooled box-like beams 3 positioned outside copper plates and used to cool and support them and member 4 fastening mould together. Close to mould there are located devices to generate magnetic field forming static or periodic low-frequency magnetic field which acts on in-flowing melt, diodes primary floe and prevents emergence of any secondary flows. Each magnet has front core 5, rear core and coil. Front core is made as one unit with water-cooled box-like beam and rear core includes rear mobile part bb mounted for movement in direction basically matching direction of field.
