METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ARTICLES OF POLYMER DISPERSIONS Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: production of industrial rubber articles, production of plastics, building materials production, wood processing industry, leather industry. SUBSTANCE: polymer dispersion together with crystallizable dispersion medium is frozen till frozen product is obtained. Before freezing out said frozen product is affected by mechanical destruction. Then article is formed of thus obtained mass and said article is frozen, the process is carried out at temperature being lower than initial point of melting of crystals of dispersion medium. Then article is frozen out. Water together with potassium paraffinate (its quantity being up to 0.05 mass %) is used as dispersion medium. Butadiene-styrene copolymer having 30 % content of styrene units is used as dispersion phase. Hardness thus obtained articles is 0.140-0.362 kg/cm².
