FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method is carried out in centrifugal basket having many circular members on periphery surface and outer casing from which water is injected through holes into internal space of basket, into recesses between circular troughs. Supplying materials containing mercury, gold, water and ore wastes are separated so that gold and mercury are collected in recesses. Liquid mercury is discharged through holes of internal basket onto internal surface of external basket on which annular receiver is provided and whose profile ensures accumulation of mercury in receiver axially extended from open throat of basket. Many discharge holes in annular receiver allow discharge of mercury into the second tray inside external tray for main unloading of materials from open throat. Liquid mercury is collected and accumulated separately from heavy solid substances inside the basket and separately from unloaded light materials. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 8 cl, 3 dwg
