PROCESS FORMING IMITATORS OF ROCK PARTICLES TO TEST STRUCTURES FOR IMPACT RESISTANCE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2108558 C1

FIELD: formation or manufacture of imitators of rock particles used to test various structures for impact resistance that can be subjected to high-speed action of particles of ground. SUBSTANCE: experimental modeling of action, for example, of particles of ground thrown out of crater of industrial blast on to various objects which may be found within zone of action of the latter is realized with maximum close approximation as well as of meteorite particles on spacecraft. Process forming imitators of rock particles to test structures for impact resistance includes selection of particles by size, geometric form and some physico-mechanical characteristics. Under-ground blast is conducted to form particles and collection of particles with various characteristic sizes is performed from different distances from center of blast in zone of ground breaking. Speed of propagation of longitudinal waves Sp is measured experimentally for selection of particles by their physico-mechanical characteristics in each of them. Then package of physico-mechanical characteristics such as Poisson's ratio ν, porosity n, density ρ, strength σ for uniaxial compression is found by calculation in agreement with corresponding correlation equations depending on Sp. After this imitators are formed in each size interval by means of selection from whole collection of rock particles of different strength so that their distribution by strength W(σ) in each size interval is subject to dependence of type , where is medium characteristic size of particle and values Ai, Bi, mi and ki (i=1, 2, 3) are chosen depending on geological type of ground which particles are to be imitated. In this case various types of grounds are subdivided into three geological types: flat country type (i= 1), fine sand type (i=2) and medium-height mountains type (i=3). EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of formation f imitators. 3 dwg
