FIELD: low-frequency communications. SUBSTANCE: system has directional symmetrical line with sound-powered subscribers' telephone sets, small-size transceivers, portable radio sets, and sound-powered telephone-to- transceiver interface units all mounted along this line. Voice informations transmitted and received over physical two-wire circuit that transmits electromagnetic waves. Signals picked off transceiver are transmitted over two- wire communication line in two directions and arrive through interface unit at other transceivers; same signals go through transceivers, are amplified in interface units, and radiated in shipboard compartments. Radiated waves are received by portable radio sets. Two- wire communication line is routed through compartments both inside and outside the ship's hull. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities, improved reliability and survivability of emergency communication system. 2 dwg
