FIELD: organic chemistry; polymerization. SUBSTANCE: isobutylene is produced by polymerization carried out in hydrocarbon solvent, such as toluene, xylene or isopentane, at temperature 0-60 C, by successively introducing into solvent isobutylene and conjugated diene, such as butadiene or isoprene. Monomers are taken in amounts 10-60 wt.-%, diene content being 0.5-20 wt. -%. Polymerization is carried out in presence of titanium tetrachloride taken in amount 0.05-1.0 mole per 100 kg of monomers, as well as in presence of triisobutyl aluminium taken in titanium-to-aluminium molar ratio of 100:1 to 1:2. EFFECT: higher polymer quality. 1 tbl
