FIELD: processing of solid domestic garbage. SUBSTANCE: waste is loaded under descending current of melt formed as result of blow-through of melt in reaction zone with oxygen-carrying blast having intensity 40- 300 $$$. Carbon fuel is also fed into melt. Content of carbon in burden amounts to 15.0-90.0%. Ratio of actual consumption of oxygen-carrying blast to one needed theoretically is held within limits 0.5-1.1. As result of process there are obtained liquid slag, effluent gases and metal melt. EFFECT: increased specific productivity of process, diminished capital outlays and operational expenses, enhanced complexity of usage of starting material. 3 cl, 2 tbl
