FIELD: radio engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to process controlling amplitude-phase distribution across aperture of phased array with discrete control over phases of excitation currents of radiators with the use of p-digit semiconductor phase inverters. Enhanced timeliness of realization of required amplitude-phase distribution is achieved by proposed method of compensation of errors of setting of phase states of p-digit phase inverters of phased array based on usage of data of SHF check on coordinates of defective p-digit phase inverters, numbers of failed switching over elements in them type of failure ( breaks or short-circuits ) and on decrease of amplitudes of excitation currents of faulty radiators of phased array. Increased accuracy of realization of required amplitude-phase distribution across aperture of phased array is achieved by disconnection of SHF energy transmission lines from radiators which have values of amplitudes of excitation currents dropped below permissible value and by redistribution of SHF energy coming from transceiving unit of radio system between its other radiators.
