FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has ring-shaped casing, cuff and locking member. The casing is manufactured from titanium and has two parts: titanium one and carbon-containing titanium surface. The latter isolates blood passing through the valve from negative physiological influence of metal. Carbon-containing casing surface is created by ion implantation of carbon into titanium. Method involves implanting carbon ions under the following conditions. Carbon ions implantation dose is not less than 5•1017 ions/cm2. Pressure in the zone of casings to be implanted is not greater than 10-3 Pa. Temperature range for implanting the casings is 250-400 C. EFFECT: improved biocompatibility properties. 2 cl, 1 dwg
