FIELD: petroleum-processing catalysts. SUBSTANCE: catalyst containing cobalt oxide and/or nickel oxide (2-5 wt %), molybdenum trioxide (10-15 wt %) and aluminum oxide is distinguished by additionally containing aluminum phosphate (1.5- 10 wt %) and iron phosphate (0.5-1 wt %) at their weight ratio (3- 10): 1, and also magnesium phosphate (0.1-1 wt %). Crude oil material is hydraulically processed at 300-420 C, pressure 2.0-10.0 MPa, feed volume rate 1.0-10.0 h-1, and hydrogen/raw material ratio 100-1000 cu.nm/cu. m in presence of above-described catalyst. EFFECT: increased hydrodesulfurizarion, denitration, dearomatization, and demetallation efficiency as compared to processes involving known catalysts. 2 cl, 4 tbl
