FIELD: hydrogenation catalysts. SUBSTANCE: effective additive chloroolefin hydrogenation of chloroolefins is necessary for developing effective technologies for processing chloroorganic production wastes containing unsaturated chlorinated compounds. Preliminarily hydrogenation of wastes will make it possible to eliminate undesired polymerization of chloroolefins in separation steps and to produce technologically useful products. Invention consists in using, as catalyst, platinum complexes with general formula PtXY(PPh2Q)2•2ShX2 where x = Cl or Br, Y = X or H, and Q = Ph or Me. EFFECT: increased catalyst efficiency. 1 tbl
