FIELD: applied magnetooptics, devices based on magnetooptical Faraday effect. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in industry in magnetooptical devices of type of flaw detectors, reading heads, spatial-time light modulators, switches, deflectors and other magnetooptical devices employing mechanism of motion of magnetization. Magnetooptical element is manufactured from ferrite-garnet and has at least one rare-earth fast-relaxing ion and corresponds to chemical formula RxAyFeuMvO12., where A is nonmagnetic and/or slow- relaxing magnetic ion; M is nonmagnetic ion. Substitutes are as such x≅3,y≅3,и≅5,v≅3.. Ferrite-garnet has point of compensation of moment of pulse within temperature range where magnetic ordering takes place near which relation is realized, where Ms is summary magnetic moment of all slow-relaxing magnetic ions; Mf is summary magnetic moment of all fast-relaxing magnetic ions.
