METHOD OF TANK CLEANING OF OIL DEPOSITS AND INSTALLATION FOR ITS REALIZATION Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: cleaning of tank inner surfaces of oil deposits. SUBSTANCE: tank is warmed up from the inside by heat- transfer agent, washing liquid is pumped in, the formed liquefied product is circulated with injection of depressors; during circulation the tank is warmed up with the use of its structural members by heat-transfer agent, the product is separated into oil, water fraction and impurities inside the tank, which are then removed from the tank; prior to final tank cleaning, an additional cleaning of water fraction is performed in the presence of coagulants. The installation for tank cleaning has a means for transfer of oil deposits, it uses a vacuum pump for pumping-in of liquid fraction through the tank outlets into an intermediate vessel, and a pressure unit; a source of hot gas, and/or steam-gas mixture, and/or steam connected to a heat exchanger is used as a preheater, the installation has also a device for washing off the deposits in the form of ejectors and hydraulic giant heads intended for circulation of warmed up product.
