FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: method for oil storage includes creating a liquid layer (hydraulic cushion) consisting of polyhydric alcohols, preferably glycerol or their derivatives not miscible with oil having density higher than oil density in the reservoir bottom part. During storage, the liquid of hydraulic cushion is periodically circulated through external heating device in order to create convection currents in the reservoir at interface with oil preventing settling of heavy oil components. Periodically, the hydraulic cushion liquid is circulated through external filtering device for cleaning from inorganic impurities. In addition, glycerine, being hygroscopic material, collects impurity water settling during oil storage. Periodically adsorbed moisture is removed from glycerine on external drying device.
EFFECT: reduced down time during equipment repair and reservoir cleaning, increased prevention efficiency pertaining formation of bottom deposits.
