FIELD: glass production. SUBSTANCE: method involves admitting into furnace first gas flow A containing atmospheric air; removing contaminating components from the first gas flow A by increasing relative oxygen content in remaining first gas flow A' and by using components removed from first gas flow to form second gas flow B, burning at least portion of remaining gas flow A' in furnace using gas flow A' as oxidative medium, discharging gas from furnace in the form of third gas flow C, combining second gas flow B and third gas flow C, and, finally, discharging combined gas flows B + C from furnace. EFFECT: reduced amount of contaminants in off-gases. 9 cl, 2 dwg
