TOWING CARRIAGE FOR EXPERIMENTAL MODEL BASIN Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: experimental hydrodynamics of ships and floating engineering structures; designing equipment for performing hydrodynamic and ice tests of models in experimental model basin. SUBSTANCE: towing carriage for ice experimental model basin includes frame with running wheels fitted on rails laid along experimental model basin, electric drive, dynamometric unit for securing the model under test on it, carriage speed meter and recording equipment. Carriage is additionally provided with drive consisting of electric motor, reduction gear made in form of gearbox with differential gear, drive shafts with clutches, angular reduction gears, motion screws with shoes and supports. Motion screws are fitted on sides of carriage frame in parallel with rails for rotation inside shoes whose bodies are secured on rails for refitting. At one end, motion screws are fitted on supports secured on carriage frame and those on opposite ends are mounted through clutches in housings of angular reduction gears and are connected via their gears and drive shafts fitted with clutches with electric motor through reduction gear made in form of gearbox with differential gear. Housings of reduction gear and electric motor are secured on frame. Meter is made in form of measuring rule with two electromagnetic sensors located at distance along its length. Measuring rule is secured on frame in parallel with motion screw and is provided with time meter made in form of reference frequency generator and frequency meter. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 dwg
