SUBSTANCE: brake system with antilock control and/or slip control at traction effort includes circuits 1 to form wheel pickup signals, circuits 2 of controller to analyze and process formed signals from pickups and to generate brake pressure control signals, monitoring circuits 3 to process control signals independent of controller circuits 2 and circuits to exchange and compare signals of controller circuits 2 with corresponding signals of monitoring circuits 3. Monitoring circuits 3 have more simple structure than controller circuits 2. Control principles are reproduced in monitoring circuits 3. In particular, control phase are defined by reproduction circuits 14 on the basis of one and the same control criteria and control parameters which are used by control circuits 2. Signals of reproduction circuits 14 are combined with valve excitation signals 13 in correlation circuits 15 to reveal errors. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of control and operation. 7 cl, 3 dwg
