FIELD: powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hard alloy production technology that can be used for manufacturing metal- cutting tools and treating predominantly wheel pairs of railway transport means. Tungsten carbide, complex titanium/tungsten carbide, tantalum carbide, chromium carbide, and cobalt carbide powders are jointly mixed and ground in ball mill in ethyl alcohol. Dried mixture is mixed with 4.5% rubber-in-gasoline solution and shaped into blanks of cutting blades, which are then sintered in two steps at 650 and 1530 C. Tantalum carbide and chromium carbide powders are preliminarily broken to particle size 0.2-0.4 mcm. EFFECT: improved cutting ability.
