FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines and piston compressors. SUBSTANCE: ring consists of split metal ring proper and working-in wear-resistant coating applied to outer surface of ring through binder layer. Thickness of coating is variable decreasing towards both sides from ends of ring over arc ϕ=120o. Thickness of coating on rear wall is constant. Owing to such design of ring, forming of sections with different coefficients of friction is prevented which improves operating conditions of ring.
