SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sliding element, particularly, to piston ring. Sliding member has at least one running surface comprises a coating, which from the inside to the outside has at least one first adhesive layer, hard hydrogen-free DLC layer, a second adhesive layer, a soft hydrogen-containing, metal and/or metal carbide-containing DLC layer, which is softer than the hard hydrogen-free DLC layer, as well as hard hydrogen-containing DLC-layer being harder than soft hydrogen-containing, metal and/or metal carbide-containing DLC layer.
EFFECT: creation of a sliding member with optimum mechanical and tribological properties is ensured.
