FIELD: defence equipment, in particular shells shot from gun barrel. SUBSTANCE: the shell has compartments fastened to each other and two leading bands: a centering band and an obturating - leading one. The centering band positioned before the obturating band is made in the form of a ring with springing bosses uniformly distributed in circumference. An annular end boss is made on the front end face of the ring on the side of the inside diameter, and a mating groove is made on the body end of the ahead positioned compartment. The springing bosses on the ring may be made in the form of ring sections uniformly arranged in circumference and bent up between the pairs of longitudinal undercuts on the side of the rear end face. The annular end face boss of the ring has a triangular section, one of the sides of this section is an extension of the ring inside diameter. The shell obturating-leading band is made of plastic material and has a base and a tapered front section and an annular recess behind the band top projecting behind the shell caliber. The part of the band projecting behind the shell caliber on the side of the rear end face has an annular undercutting turning into an annular recess, the recess bottom is located below the shell caliber. The volume of the recess located below the shell caliber may be equal to 0.5 to 0.9 of the volume of the band located above the shell caliber. The slope of the annular undercutting exceeds or is equal to the slope of the front tapered section of the band, and the band outside diameter behind the annular recess equals the shell caliber.
