FIELD: artillery equipment, in particular, artillery, projectiles, both guided and non-guided ones. SUBSTANCE: artillery projectile has the tail section, with a sliding obturator includes a metal ring and a packing member rigidly connected to it. A groove with an annular lug is made on the front end face of the projectile tail section. An annular groove is made on the inner surface of the obturator metal ring. The metal ring, resting on the projectile body with its front end face, is installed in the groove of the projectile tail section for free turning so that the ring groove would be located opposite the groove annular lug. An annular groove with under- cuttings on the walls and with a channelled bottom is formed on the outer surface of the obturator metal ring, the groove accommodates the packing member made of plastic material, mainly of copper, furnished with an annular lug, whose front end face inclined, towards the projectile tail section, and the outer surface projecting over the metal ring has a diameter exceeding the bore diameter in rifling. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 2 dwg
