FIELD: large-and medium- caliber artillery. SUBSTANCE: shell is made with the front and rear bourrelets. Installed in a groove of the shell rear section is a freely rotating obturator with a sealing element, whose outside diameter exceeds the diameter of the rifled bore. An annular groove is made in the front part of the groove, and an annular boss resting on the rear end face of the annular groove is made on the inner surface of the obturator front part. Clearances are made between the obturator front end face and groove rear end face. The clearance between the obturator and groove is not less than the diametral clearance between the obturator annular boss and the annular groove. The geometric dimensions of the obturator annular boss and annular groove, as well as the obturator location relative to the rear bourrelet, correspond to the relations given in the description of the invention. EFFECT: prevented shell cocking in the bore at loading and injury of the sealing element of the obturating band at the beginning of shell motion at a shot. 2 cl, 2 dwg
