FIELD: APPLIED ELECTROCHEMISTRY. SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for application in devices with electrically controllable light-absorbency and light-reflection, for example, in automobile rear-view mirror. Aim of invention is to develop an electrochromic composition with decreased time of relaxation of electrically colored state into initial state. Composition is made up of (in wt %): ditriphenylcyanoborate of dipyridinyl derivative (cathode component), 0.7-5.1; anode component: ferrocene oil, 0.2-1.9, or 5,10-dihydro-5,10-dimethylphenazine, 0.3- 1.4; teraalkylammonium or alkali metal triphenylcyanoborate (supporting electrolyte) 0.6-7.5; and/or gamma-butyrolactone or propylene carbonate (solvent), the balance. Composition makes it possible to 2-3-fold reduce time of spontaneous relaxation of electrically colored state and would contribute in developing higher- speed devices operating under different electrical control conditions.
