FIELD: TV equipment, in particular, encoding of wide band signals to decrease their bandwidth so that information losses do not disturb information perception. SUBSTANCE: method involves converting video signal by means of splitting of input sequence of frames into block sequences, generation of compressed information signal, sampling it using large number of vector samplers which operate separately and selectively with compressed information signal. Each vector sampler has its own band and memory for output vectors. Then vectors are added to one packet which amplification is adjusted automatically and is sent to channel for transmission. Sampling vectors are sine functions which differ in frequency feature. Vectors are added to one packet with addition of synchronization signals. This results in possibility to decrease maximal video signal bandwidth by two orders of magnitude without interlacing frames and operations with inter-frame difference, without predicative methods and additional memory for storing redundant number of vectors. EFFECT: decreased upper frequency of encoded signal and decreased bandwidth. 3 dwg
