FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: pivot joint has upper part mounted on supporting bracket and lower part connected through thrust bearings with upper part. Rotating pin is positioned at an angle to horizontal axis of rotation. During walking, upper part of pivot joint is fixed against rotation on pin by retainer and thrust, which are positioned on supporting bracket. Adjustable flexible thrusts are disposed between upper and lower parts of pivot joint. Such construction of pivot joint allows walking kinematics approximating natural walking kinematics to be provided. EFFECT: increased efficiency and reduced power consumption during walking. 4 dwg
