FIELD: conversion of reciprocating motion into one-direction rotary motion. SUBSTANCE: drive members 1 of screw mechanism is connected with axial force applying unit 2 and is engageable with it over friction surface through bodies of revolution. Under action of two opposite axial forces, drive member 1 is locked in turn and is shifted by amount of stroke at simultaneous position return of additional drive member 4 to initial position. Drive members 1 and 4 are moved over one driven member 3 in opposite directions. Magnitude of axial force is so selected that reactive moment of inertia of drive member is laser that static and dynamic moments of inertia of driven member 3 which makes it possible to obtain continuous one-direction rotation and inertial rotation of driven member 3, screw or nut, free running being formed automatically.
