FIELD: fire-fighting equipment. SUBSTANCE: the offered gas generator has combustion chamber with holes for gas discharge which are covered with membranes, and gas generating charge accommodated in chamber. Installed in combustion chamber is additional gas generating charge located in, at least, one additional hollow of combustion chamber separated from the main hollow. In this case, additional hollow has member made of material which decomposes by layers under the effect of temperature of burning gas-generating charge and capable of transmitting of fire ray. In preferable version of the offered gas generator, additional hollow member is made of gas-generating composition. EFFECT: higher efficiency of use of gas generator due to provision of possibly of maintenance of working pressure in body of fire extinguisher in course of displacement of fire-extinguishing means. 2 cl, 1 dwg
