FIELD: petrochemical industry. SUBSTANCE: component of low-sulfur furnace fuel is produced by hydrotreatment of oil fraction (onset boiling point is 280-320 C, end boiling point is 360-390 C) in the presence of catalytic system consisting of layers of alumino-cobalt- and alumino-nickel-molybdenum catalysts. Presulfidized alumino-cobalt-molybdenum catalyst at amount 10-50 wt. -% of total catalytic system mass is charged as the first layer with raw. This catalyst has sulfur content 1.5(C + M)S where C - cobalt oxide content in catalyst, wt.-%; M - molybdenum oxide content in catalyst, wt. -%; S - sulfur content in parent raw, wt.-%. Method ensures to obtain the end product containing sulfur 0.1 wt.-%, not above. EFFECT: improved method of producing. 2 tbl
