FIELD: fuel production. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to producing diesel fuel exhibiting boiling point onset 170 C, not below, end boiling point 370 C, not above, at sulfur and aromatic hydrocarbon content 0.05% and 20 vol. %, respectively, not above. Method involves hydrotreatment of oil fractions in the presence of aluminium-cobalt- and aluminium-nickel-molybdenum catalysts. Fraction at boiling point onset 300 C, not above, is subjected for hydrotreatment using catalytic system consisting of 10-50 wt.-% aluminium-nickel-molybdenum catalyst activated with ethylmercaptan taken at amount 10-20 wt.-% of total catalytic system mass and product 1 is obtained. Fraction at boiling point onset 300 C, not below, is subjected for hydrotreatment using catalytic system consisting of 10-40 wt.-% aluminium-cobalt-molybdenum catalyst activated with elemental sulfur taken at amount 5-20 wt. -% of total catalytic system mass and product 2 is obtained. Then the obtained products were compounded at ratio product 1:product 2 = (3-4): (2-1). EFFECT: improved method of fuel producing, improved ecology. 2 tbl
