PIPE JOINT Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: high-pressure oil pipelines, hydraulic abrasive and loose media transportation pipelines, steam and water supply systems of industrial enterprises. SUBSTANCE: pipe joint includes inner pipe with cylindrical surface fitted with bell mouth whose surface is tapering towards and; sealing member is pressed in taper clearance between ends of pipes with the aid of female flange, pressure coupling and fasteners. Surface of bell mouth is provided with thrust shoulder. Cylindrical surface of inner pipe is provided with circular bore where spring-loaded locking ring is fitted; this ring is fitted at axial clearances and radial clearance relative to inner surface of pressure coupling. Sealing member is made from elastomer. Taper portion of pressure coupling is engageable with similar surface in bell mouth forming permanent taper fit. Axis of locking ring is located below the generatrix of inner cylindrical pipe by 0.05 of locking ring thickness. Elastomer sealing member is made in the form of fluoroplastic gland-type collar; sealing member may be provided with blade on side of smaller end. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 4 cl, 4 dwg
