FIELD: oil and gas production, means protecting casing string against high pressure. SUBSTANCE: packer has sealing unit including expanding member interacting with cylinder coupled to drive that has rod. Inner diameter of expanding member is chosen to accommodate outer diameter of plunger installed on lower end of tubing string. Its sealing members interact with inner wall of expanding member. Packer is fitted with bearing tube with radial ducts that rests against face of well. Rod of drive connected to tubing string is made fast to bearing tube and plunger is joined to it in working position. Sealing unit is provided with bearing bushing which upper part interacts with ring shoulder of plunger and which lower part interacts with expanding member when in working position. EFFECT: high reliability and prolonged service life of packer, considerable saving of materials. 3 cl, 3 dwg
