FIELD: irrigated agriculture, in particular, soil slitting and mellowing. SUBSTANCE: slitting tool has tine, removable knife member and chisel mounted on lower tine cut. Tine has sides and insert fixed at inner face of each side. Unequal semicircular grooves are cut on inner faces of sides in spaced relation to front edges. Semicircular grooves and slot between sides define cavity for receiving removable knife member and rod for retaining this member. Rod and removable member are provided with devices for withdrawing them from cavity in tine. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and improved quality of soil. 8 cl, 4 dwg
