APPARATUS FOR SEPARATION AND REMOVAL OF HUSK FROM CORN COB Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: equipment used in machines for harvesting and postharvest treatment of corn cobs. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has hopper 1, vertical conveyor 2, grain pen 3 and conveyor 5. Corn cobs are discharged in succession from hopper 1 by conveyor 2 onto inclined grain pen 3 having rough surface, with inclination angle and roughness being selected so as to provide increased descending speed of husked cobs, which are further delivered onto conveyor 5. Unhusked cobs are directed by divider 4 into hopper 6 and discharged in succession to husking rolls by means of blade doser 8. EFFECT: increased efficiency in removal of corn cob husk by usage of system for separating cobs into husked and unhusked cobs, improved quality of processed cobs and enhanced reliability in operation. 1 dwg
