FIELD: waste water treatment. SUBSTANCE: in particular, outflows coming out or discharged from active reactor and containing adsorbed haloorganic compounds in concentration above 10 mg/l are subjected to at least a two-step dechlorinating and/or dehydrochlorinating treatment. In the first step, outflows with pH value from 10 to 14 as measured at room temperature or set up to this value are fed into at least one subsequent reactor and/or passed through it, temperature in the reactor being set up or maintained above 75 C, pressure at least 1 bar, and residence time at least 0.5 h. In the second step, at least one additional dechlorinating and/or dehydrochlorinating treatment is performed mostly in presence of hydrogen-containing gas or hydrogen-releasing compound, and/or in presence of catalytically acting substance. Thereafter, processed outflow from reactor(s) is discharged and/or subjected to biological treatment using microorganisms.
