FIELD: inertial navigation systems. SUBSTANCE: method involves rotation of platform reversed periodically with reference to axis rigidly coupled to object and forming equal angles with sensitivity axes of all circular ring lasers. Projections of absolute angular velocity on sensitivity axes of circular ring lasers are measured at same time as well as angle of turn of platform relative to object. Torsional harmonic vibrations of circular ring lasers with regard to rotary platform are additionally excited with same amplitudes and frequencies and reciprocal phase shift 2π/3. Simultaneously components equal to angular velocities of mentioned vibrations of proper circular ring lasers are subtracted from measured values of projections of angular velocity. Current values of spatial angular orientation of object are computed. Laser measurement unit has single-axle platform with three circular ring lasers which sensitivity axes are mutually orthogonal and form equal angles with rotation axis of platform, actuating motor with circuit of reversing of rotational direction, control unit coupled via circuit of reversing to actuating motor, computer, three-phase generator. Each circular ring laser is fitted with torsional vibrosuspension through which it is coupled to platform, moment pickup, pickup of torsional vibrations and compensation circuit.
