FIELD: determination of azimuth.
SUBSTANCE: purpose of the invention is to determine the azimuth. The essence of the invention lies in the fact that when determining the azimuth, a laser gyroscope, which does not have a device in its design that eliminates or reduces the effect of capturing oncoming waves in an annular resonator, is installed in such a way that its sensitivity vector is directed at a given non-zero angle to the horizon plane, and it is rotated around an axis perpendicular to the horizon plane by rotating with a constant angular velocity (constant rotation frequency), during the rotation, the output signal of the laser gyroscope is measured and integrated relative to the zero position and the position 90° away from zero, after the full rotation of the laser gyroscope is completed relative to the zero position and the position 90° away from zero, the values cos (psi) and sin (psi) are estimated based on the integration results, where psi is the desired azimuth angle, and the azimuth is determined using the expression. In a dynamic gyrocompass containing a laser gyroscope mounted on a platform of a rotation device with the possibility of rotation with a constant angular velocity around an axis perpendicular to the horizon plane, the sensitivity axis of the laser gyroscope is directed at a given non-zero angle to the horizon plane. The rotary platform rotates at a constant angular velocity around an axis perpendicular to the horizon plane, which makes it possible to abandon the use of a device as part of a laser gyroscope that eliminates or reduces the influence of the effect of capturing oncoming waves in an annular resonator. In the version of the device, a second laser gyroscope can be used as a sensor of the rotation angle of the platform without a device that eliminates or reduces the effect of the effect of capturing oncoming waves in an annular resonator installed along the axis of the platform.
EFFECT: providing a reduction in the noise level of the gyrocompass sensor element, increasing the accuracy and speed of azimuth measurement by the gyrocompass.
