FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes spraying of mixture with liquid medium and methods of orientation of mixture over ascending flow, then over descending flow at low pressure. Spraying is carried out parallel to mixture flow with use of alkali aqueous solution. As a result of spraying, air is cleaned and vapors are condensed with subsequent removal of noncondensed gases in the form of pressure and regulated flow to build up and maintain low pressure. The device for cleaning of vapor-air mixture polluted with sulfur-containing gases and formed in plant for granulation of blast-furnace slag has at least one spraying nozzle, closed tower located above granulation plant and serving for gathering mixture of vapors and air and accommodating at least one vertical long vessel with closed lower end and open upper end. Nozzles are installed in vessel and communicated with system for distribution of alkali solution having at least one free line for supply of washing solution and condensate and connected with lower end of vessel at least one suction line for noncondensed gases connected with vessel lower part, and pump with regulated delivery for withdrawal of noncondensed gases and maintaining low pressure in vessel connected with suction line. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 8 cl, 1 dwg
