FIELD: forestry and woodworking industry. SUBSTANCE: according to method, wood is advanced and tool is imparted with reciprocating motion. Generated in tool are ultrasonic oscillations in area of its resonance frequencies unidirectional as to its reciprocating motion. In another version, reciprocating motion of tool is performed locally by generating ultrasonic oscillations in it in area of its resonance frequencies. Sawing frame which realizes first version of method has base, gate saw, feed mechanism, drive for reciprocating motion of gate saw. Sawing frame is provided with generator of ultrasonic oscillations which in its body incorporates magnetostrictive converter connected with acoustic concentrator and power-operated frame. Aforesaid frame is connected with drive for reciprocating motion of gate saw which is positioned inside power-operated frame with possibility of oscillations in direction of reciprocating motion. Converter body is rigidly secured on power-operated frame, and concentrator is connected with cross-member. Sawing frame according to second version has drive for reciprocating motion of gate saw in the form of generator of ultrasonic oscillations which incorporates body rigidly fastened on base. Accommodated in body are magnetostrictive converter and acoustic concentrator which is connected with cross-member of gate saw. This embodiment ensures reduction of power consumption, improved quality of work, prolonged service life of tool, and reduction of waste. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 5 cl, 3 dwg
