FIELD: chemical treatment of surfaces, more particularly manufacture of containers from ferrous metals. SUBSTANCE: claimed method comprises degreasing surface with aqueous solutions, washing with water, phosphotizing with orthophosphoric acid with concentration of 200-400 g/l with neonol added in amount of 0.1-10 g/l at 30-45 C for 1-20 min, washing with water, passivating with sodium nitrite with concentration of 1-20 g/l at alevated temperature for 1-10 min, and drying. Present invention makes it possible to improve corrosion resistance of container, eliminate contamination of the substance to be transported with corrosion products, and save paint materials.
